Jaguar XE Sets New Speed Record
Jaguar XE Sets New Speed Record! Recently, the Jaguar XE SV Project 8, became the world’s fastest four-door sedan when it clocked an impressive 1min 37.54 seconds on the 2.2-mile course at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, Monterey, California. The Jaguar XE SV Project 8 is the quickest, most powerful road-legal Jaguar with a supercharged V8 petrol engine that gets an impressive 0-60mph in 3.3 seconds with a top speed of 200mpg.
The limited edition sedan, helmed by racing driver Randy Pobst, improved its speed by nearly one second over the previous record-holder. It is limited to only 300 units, all of which are hand-built at the Jaguar Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations and fine-tuned on some of the most thrilling test tracks including the Nurburgring Nordschleife. Last November, the XE SV Project 8 lapped the famed track in 7min 21.23 seconds.
“This Laguna Seca lap record is another powerful demonstration of the Jaguar XE SV Project 8’s performance credentials. “Designed, engineered and hand-assembled by Special Vehicle Operations, this record-breaking sedan is made for the world’s most demanding driving enthusiasts.” – Michael Van Der Sande, Jaguar Land Rover Special Operations Managing Director
